Adelheid von Maltitz

Adelheid has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2005, her Masters in Fine Arts in 2009 and is currently studying towards her PhD in Fine Arts at the University of the Free State.

She is a lecturer in drawing and sculpture at her alma mater.  Her research is concerned with the transformative potential of dynamic threshold places such as roadside shrines in South Africa.

She participated in several local exhibitions as well as international exhibitions.  In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 she was selected as a finalist to exhibit in Sasol New Signatures and in 2014 was awarded the ‘runner up’ prize.  She also exhibited in Barclays L’Atelier 2014, 2015 and 2017 and in the Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition in 2016.
