Each block has a hand on it that is in a typical pose from Christian artworks using my own hands. My works are created by tearing up papers that have been painted and then sticking the pieces in different ways to create new images. The way the works look are reminiscent of stained glass windows, referring to the religious context of my work. My works comments on religious images and how they are depicted and interpreted. I am interested in how even when separating images such as the hands from their original context, we still understand where they come from. The viewer understands what they mean even without context because we are exposed to religious images from a young age and see them often.
