Margaret is a self-taught artist, although she did do art as an elective subject at the University of the Free State (UFS) for one year while pursuing a degree in Education. She paints because she loves creating beautiful things, which (hopefully) sparks some emotion in the viewer.
At present, she is a lecturer in journalism at the UFS, which brings together her love for teaching and working with young people. Margaret worked as a professional journalist and news editor for many years; in her spare time she has always loved to create a beautiful, colourful, eclectic home, to bake delicious meals to share with friends and family, and to potter around in her garden.
She has no great philosophy of art or life – she simply enjoys the smell, feel and texture of any artistic medium. Thus, she works in every conceivable medium known to (wo)men… and does it with gay abandon!
